The Big 3.....have your say today!

The Big 3Help set our direction!

We are in the process of reviewing and updating three very important long-term strategic documents:

  • The Council Plan, which outlines the key projects and services that Council will focus on over the next four years to make a difference to the local community
  • The Moonee Valley Planning Scheme, which guides how we plan and use the land in Moonee Valley and therefore can contribute to creating healthy places
  • The Moonee Valley Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (or the Health Plan in short). The Health Plan identifies actions to enable people living, working and visiting Moonee Valley to achieve maximum health and wellbeing.

Those three documents are closely related so any input we get on one will be fed back to the other two.

Your input makes a difference so have your say today!

The growth of Moonee Valley

Melbourne is a growing city. The population of Melbourne is expected to reach 5 million by 2026. The State Government has the challenging task of working out the best way to accommodate this growth.

Population growth is occurring across Metropolitan Melbourne:

  • On the outskirts of the city in areas such as Cardinia and Casey in the south east, Mitchell and Hume in the north and Melton and Wyndham in the west
  • On old 'brownfield' sites in metropolitan Melbourne like Fishermans Bend and E-Gate, the old rail-yards land between North Melbourne station and Footscray Road
  • Within established inner urban areas like Moonee Valley

Watch the video on the growth of Melbourne to understand why and how our city is changing and growing.
