Think big picture. What direction do you think the community should take when it comes to transport (car, car share, public transport, walking and cycling)?

Cars will always be with us, nobody wants to go back to the "old days", to crowd our main streets with High Rise Buildings with lack of parking is not going to be very helpful. If Council are so convinced that there is a "trend" of less cars on the roads, maybe they would like to reduce parking for themselves and employees at the City of Moonee Valley, in other words "lead by example". We need Council and Councillors to listen to the residents, not give them a say and then ignore anything that doesn't fit in with their plans. At present a great job of ruining the residents amenities is being implemented.

We all deserve better, we need Council to listen.

I'm not sure that cars will always be with us actually....or in fact, if we will always need cars in our lives. Yes, it's going to be hard to change this and will perhaps take many more years, but we need to start somewhere. A great public transport system, well integrated into MV infrastructure which includes modern, safe and easy to use cycling and walking lanes and tracks will slowly make it's impact in the years to come. The direction to take therefore is easy to see....less reliance on cars and more reliance on green living. We can't keep destroying the community/city/country/planet with our selfish ways for much longer. Something has to change.
