Local businesses mean local jobs, local services and local products. What do you see as the key factors to attract and retain trade and manufacturing in the city? What will make people want to work in the local area?

We need to find a way to keep local business competitive against the behemoths that rule the world today with obscene market share and monopoly/duopoly existence. Small business does not stand much chance in today's world. Back to the future i say..(somehow). Perhaps local Gov support/subsidies for local produce/business operators is a start ? Capitalism is both good and bad unfortunately but we need to make things easier for our local businesses. Employement vs shareholder returns ? Time to think outside the box perhaps...New start business grants is another ? (if not already done today).
